26 November 2005  HELADA Thanksgiving Potluck 
Thirty of us, embodying a remarkable amount of experience as volunteers, students, lawyers, journalists, engineers, teachers, businesspersons, and miscellaneous, gathered at the house of Mandi in Kifisia for a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner and some wonderful conversation about politics and everything else.

3 June, 2005, Outing to see the play "Pure"
Twenty-six HELADA members and friends assembled at the Athinais cultural complex in Votanikos to watch Shireen Maanian in a remarkable one-woman play based on the life of a famous Bahai martyr.  We had drinks afterwards with Shireen and her husband Socrates, play director Judy Boyle, and composer Karen Solomon.

16 February, 2005, Democrats Abroad Greece Dinner at Stamatopoulos Taverna, Plaka

The Democrats Abroad held a get-together at Stamatopoulos Taverna on Wednesday, 16 February. Several HELADA members attended.  

 

 

 

17 January, 2005, HELADA Monthly Meeting and New Year Pita Cutting

HELADA's January meeting saw 20 members gather at The Athens Centre to cut the Vasilopita and inaugurate a promising New Year.  We heard presentations on the Ohio elections, social security reform, Attorney General-designate Alberto Gonzales, Not-One-Damn-Dime Day, and future HELADA projects including on the American image in Greece.
